The DfE Digital Standards for Schools and Colleges is a set of standards to be used as guidelines to support your organisation make informed decisions about technology, leading to safer, more cost-effective practices and new learning opportunities for students. The Digital Standards Tracker is a set of resources, checklists, tracker, documents, posters and training and awareness information for schools and colleges.
Once you have assigned your SLT Digital Lead, we recommend that you start with the Leadership & Governance Standard tracker which we have given to all our customers as part of their current SLA. (Customers can access the tracker via the Schools & Trusts Best Practice Area and then going to 'DfE Digital Standards). Each question is set up in the tracker, where you can record your answers and check progress and report to SLT and the board your progress:
We have created a short video for each standard which explains the main requirements of the standard. These can also be found on the Digital Standards Tracker website, but below is the Leadership & Governance one for you to view and share.
More information about each standard can be found on our DfE Digital Standards Tracker website:
Other resources include documents and maps about roles and responsibilities and timelines, remember, you should be meeting all of the data protection standards now.
